BEIJING, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- The United States dominated the elite races, while China claimed two gold medals in the men's senior and U19 divisions as the 400-meter events of the UIPM 2025 Obstacle World Championships concluded Friday at Beijing's National Olympic Sports Center.

Luke Beckstrand, 18, of the United States won the men's elite title in 90.870 seconds, followed by his brother Kai Beckstrand (98.010) and Brandon Hulley of South Africa (102.720). "It's my first 400-meter course - much longer, more running - but I'm super happy with how it turned out," Luke said. "It's amazing to compete here in Beijing, in the first UIPM Obstacle World Championships."

China's Li Yiqi, the only home athlete in the elite final, finished fourth, calling the event "a great learning experience" and said he hopes to close the gap to top international athletes.

In the women's elite final, Tiana Webberley of the United States won gold in 121.490 seconds, ahead of Poland's Katarzyna Jonaczyk and Germany's Lotta Kokemohr. "These girls are fast," Webberley said. "I had to give 100 percent. It's an honor to compete here - hopefully I can come back next year."

Chinese athletes also delivered strong results in other divisions. Zhang Hongyue claimed the men's U19 title, Ma Yaran took bronze in the U17 division, and Wang Yang led an all-Chinese podium in the men's senior division.

The 3,000m and 100m finals will be held on Saturday.
